(via wannablessedbe)
Being white doesn’t make you racist (we’re all a little bit racist, though). Saying and doing racist things makes you racist. Now who’s playing the “race card?”
I would argue that being white and being male does, actually, make you racist and sexist with the larger point that being alive makes you racist and sexist. Being white and/or male simply means you’re far less likely to examine your racial and/or gender based assumptions because you’re not confronted with other people’s racial and/or gender based assumptions 24/7. The goal is to recognize and ameliorate the fucked up brain society gives you.
Basically.
Let me clarify- again.
my original post (that of course no longer appears in the reblogs) was meant to be ironic. The person that reblogged it with the above title completely missed that which is even more amusing since they declared me as the one missing the point.
all of this came from a post I made about laws as to biological children vs non-biological children raised as your own. That post was somehow twisted into something about race which was never the point of what I was saying to begin with. Then it went nuts with people being all kinds of self-righteous, all the while completely ignoring the point of the original post.
So I posted this as an example of taking one point to a ridiculous, off-topic conclusion. Then naturally wannabeblessed MISSED THAT POINT AS WELL and accused me of being the person missing the point.
Irony- look it up.
